Use The Daily Florida Image To Motivate Your PhotographyAs the name of this page implies, the Daily Florida Image will be updated every day for your enjoyment and hopefully inspiration. I have found that there is no better spur to personal improvement than regularly scheduled practice. Making an activity a habit rather than an occasional boredom-breaker quickly leads to proficiency. I also find that creative blocks tend to fade away as the activity becomes part of my lifestyle(this is also true for writing, cooking and other creative activities). Florida images are what I do because Florida is where I live. When I travel I still use my camera every day and strive to capture the spirit of wherever I may be at the time. This type of regular shooting gets me so familiar with my cameras that I seldom have to think about them - cameras and lenses are in the background, just a means to an end. The similarity here is with musicians - all that practice leads to less thought about how to play and lets them concentrate on how to play it. Interpretation and emotion are what its all about in the creative fields. So this daily page is ultimately quite selfish on my part. Immature Black-Crowned Night Heron
These herons are not seen as often as the yellow-crowned version and the immature birds are even more rare. This one was photographed in a hardwood swamp area of a local park, not the usual local, either, as they are usually seen in more open areas along the edges of canals and ponds.
